Hello! Welcome to the Table!

I'm keeping my goals for this blog simple and fluid.

I cook.  I draw.  And I want to share those things with you.

As an introductory week, I've been inspired by this post from Sarah at The Yellow House. I'm going to post each day and give a glimpse of how cooking (and eating) work their way into our life.

There are many beautiful blogs floating around the internet with luscious photography and enviable ingredient lists. I have many of them bookmarked and I click through them now and then for inspiration. While our palates around here are adventurous, the ingredients are much more humble. We eat well and we eat together. Those are the most important things.

I've listed what's coming this week, but I'll wait to share recipes with each individual post. As I cook, I'll make drawings and share them. Sometimes these drawings will turn into paintings or vector art. Sometimes I'll make them available for sale as prints. When I do, I'll share the link to my online store.

This week's menu:
Saturday: Chicken Soup (broth and shredded chicken prepared last weekend)
Sunday: Pork Chop and Potato Casserole
Monday: Autumn Vegetable Ragout with Polenta (I've started making at least one meatless meal a week)
Tuesday: Frozen Fish, tater-tots and fresh pineapple (with my current work schedule I'm usually more tired on Tuesdays than Mondays, so I build in an easy comfort food meal)
Wednesday: Turkey Sausage Succotash
Thursday: Leftovers (pending what's in the refrigerator)
Friday: I haven't planned this meal. Often, it's fun and informal. Sometimes homemade pizza or nachos.

On top of cooking meals most nights, I also bake at least once a weekend. Yeah, I'm one of THOSE moms: my kids are teenagers but they still get homemade treats in their lunches.

This week's baking:
Mini Pumpkin muffins.
Dark chocolate chip bar cookies.
